flashback: Spring in October 2007

I could be in Africa right now.  

That thought has crossed my mind a few times this past week.  True, with the right resources, a full day committed to sitting in a cramped airplane, and any of us could be in Africa right now if we wanted to be.  But the fact that a trip was all but booked has Africa on my mind lately and the heavier dose of wanderlust that comes with it has me a little preoccupied.

In preparation for the trip I pulled together a bunch of my favorite images from the last visit in 2007 when the Jacaranda trees were in full glorious lavender bloom for Spring in October.

I'm posting this entry now with hopes that putting out good Africa bound vibes will help line things up and the trip will still happen in the near future.  Here's hoping...

pbpb is back!

Today we celebrate my little boy's 1 year Birthday. Like my other 2 children-this year has flown by. I am excited to watch this little boy grow every day into the toddler, boy, teenager (yikes) and man God wants Him to be. Happy Birthday Greyson!!

How time flies....

We have heard that saying coutnless times "my how time flies" but it doesnt really hit home until you have your own children. I took my daughters picture yesterday before she headed off to her 1st day of 1st grade-I then found the same picture taken last year on her 1st day of Kindergarten. *sigh*

Why I dont carve pumpkins with children

So we attempted to carve our 1st pumpkin today. All was going well until my daughter decides to take the pulp and put it in the garden (the backyard) -(I dont have a garden-Im not Martha yall) anyway long story short- she talked her 2 year old brother into holding the trash bag so she could dump the guts into the bag.. yeah you know what happens next- toddler moves bag, guts go everywhere and Im on hands and knees cleaning up goop. *sigh*

My little man is 2 today! How time flies- but there are those days when I wish he was older and able to take care of himself. But for now I am grateful for his little self. He is my stong willed, fun-loving, soccer-playing litte boy. He loves his sister and his little brother and brings us lots of laughs! Happy Birthday baby!

Coming up for air.....

In between diaper changes, breast feeding, disciplining my 2 year old, and trying to rest my body- I thought I would post some pictures of our newest family member. He was born on Friday Sept 5th- weighing in at 7 lbs and 8 oz. We are excited and exhausted all at the same time. If anyone has advise on how to raise 3 children please let me know!! I am quite overwhelmed at the moment- on top of the raging hormones!!
