$2.2 million for home John Wayne owned!

John Wayne once owned this 4-bedroom, 4-bath house in Newport Beach’s Big  Canyon. You’ll get a kick out of the address: 14 Rue Grand Ducal. Yep, “Ducal” means “pertaining to a duke”!
The 4,448-square foot house off the 4th tee of the private golf course in Big Canyon is on the market for $2,263,000.
The late actor’s name is in the title history, along with wife Pilar, according to Realtor Linda Stearns.
It’s no secret that The Duke called Orange County home (John Wayne Airport ring a bell?) but you might recall his Bayshore estate. It’s not clear that he spent a lot of time in the Big Canyon house.
.

However, the books, ”John Wayne: The Man behind the myth,” and “John Wayne, American,” have him playing all kinds of games, including poker, bridge, backgammon and Klabberjass, at the Big Canyon Country Club.
Stearns says he did some remodeling on the house, including an expansion of the master bedroom, installing dark hardwood floors, and designing a custom art piece with two stone American bald eagles.
“He put his own touches in it,” Stearns says.
The house had two other owners since then. The property last sold in 1998, for $895,000.
The 2-story “Versailles” style home includes a 2-story living room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a marble fireplace, a newly remodeled kitchen, and a butler’s pantry that contains a ”secret” area, according to the listing.
Upstairs is a balcony and 2 bedroom suites with spa baths. Outside, the pool, spa and gazebo are surrounded by lush gardens, making the home “very private,” Stearns says.

Sauna to eliminate toxins in your body?

To understand how infrared sauna work, describe yourself in the open air on a summer day with the sun shining above. Your body feels hot sun and you become hot. Then a cloud passing, blocking the sun. The temperature outside has not changed, but you feel cooler in the shade. The Sun’s infrared rays were heating your body.

How does an infrared sauna detoxify the body?
When toxins are present in our body, the blood circulation is blocked and cellular energy is altered. The body’s immune system is inhibited, making it difficult for the body to fight the disease. When heat is applied to infrared major water molecules in our body that contain toxic gases such as sulphur dioxide, carbon dioxide, lead, mercury and chlorine vibrate and are broken down. The encapsulated toxic materials and gases are then released. The infrared heat is often used to treat clogged capillaries, heat increases the pores and capillaries to expel toxins from the body. We can tolerate and even enjoy infrared heat for longer periods than the heat of a hot tub or steam bath, therefore sweating from the heat infrared promotes the most beneficial for detoxification.

How infrared sauna possibly offer all these advantages?
During a 30-minute session, you can relax and enjoy the music, your whole body is working to generate sweat 2-3 times higher than in a traditional sauna. The infrared sauna therapy offers an in-depth heat in a more pleasant atmosphere, providing benefits greater health. Each session allows the body to detoxify, relieve muscle pain by increasing the circulation, burns fat, giving you a workout cardiovascular, reduce cellulite and skin regains shine.

With all benefits and amenity to assemble or install it, the sauna is “something” proper to present in our home. Relax our self, enjoy the sauna and let’s hope health and happiness would be with us.

US Presidents’ Office

The Oval Office inside the White House is the US President’s formal workspace. This is where he meets and confers with the heads of the state, diplomats and other dignitaries. When a new president assumes office, it is not uncommon for him to renovate the Oval Office to suit his taste. In fact, nearly all presidents do a mini-makeover when they come in. They change the paint, put in a new rug on the floor, get different drapes and do most of the stuff that an average person does when he moves to a new home. In this post we take a look at the changing face of the Oval Office during different Presidencies and how each president added his own touch to the White House decor.
Oval rooms became popular in eighteenth century neoclassical architecture, and it is likely that the architect of the White House, James Hoban, was influenced by the elliptical chamber of an Irish Mansion called Castle Coole. Here is a hand-tinted photo of the first Oval Office, designed by Nathan C. Wyeth for President William Howard Taft in 1909.

Calvin Coolidge’s Office in 1925
It can be said that from Howard Taft(1909) to Herbert Hoover(1933) the main decor of green rug, dark green drapes with eagle valances and olive green walls remained pretty much the same. When Franklin D. Roosevelt joined office in 1933, he redecorated it with a blue-green rug and gray green walls.

During Franklin Roosevelt’s Presidency, the office was moved to the southeast corner of the West Wing in 1934, and this is what the modern office looked like:

Harry S Truman in 1945 changed the tint of the room to grayish and his desk was famous for a plaque with a motto that read: “The buck stops here.”

Dwight D. Eisenhower assumed office in 1953 and though he did not change the decor much…

The John F Kennedy’s Oval Office was redesigned by Stéphane Boudin in 1963 with a new red rug and pale curtains but it was dismantled after the President’s assassination, before Mrs. Kennedy returned.

Lyndon B. Johnson succeeded Kennedy and used his rug and curtains temporarily but he did not use the Resolute Desk.
