Christmas home tour 2010

Once again Nester is having her annual Christmas tour of homes.  I always enjoy getting the chance to peek into everyone's home.  Its so fun to see all the beautiful decor , some bright & colorful and other subtle and warm.  This year I really was into the blues, silvers and gold's with of course lots of greenery.

 

These next few photographs were taken by my friend Christa who is a photographer-she is AMAZING! She also did a post on my annual Christmas Tea party.

Christmas Tea

Every year I host a Christmas Tea in my home for friends and neighbors. Every year new friends and old come and share some sweet treats and a warm cuppa. This year I had the pleasure of my friend Christa, who is an amazing photographer, come and take some lovely photos. After seeing her photos I dare not share the ones I took. I sooooo need a camera Santa.........

Christmas in candlelight

I love the evening time-when the tree lights glow and all the candles are light. There is something magical about the warmth of candle light. I took some pictures this evening and now more than ever I wish I had a decent camera to capture this (Santa you listening?). But for now these will have to due. With all the hustle and bustle going on this week before Christmas-take time to turn off the overhead lights, light some candles, put on Christmas music and grab a cup of tea, coffee,or hot chocolate and savor the moment. Holiday home tour

My $10 garage sale mirror gets some bling with a napkin ring, boxwood garland and a "JOY" ornament

My Pottery-Barn inspired coffee table piece. I used Reindeer Moss, 3 large chunky candles, and mercury glass balls and small silver balls set inside a large basket- total cost was under $25-the Pottery Barn version-not including a basket- $60!

My tree! all 12 feet of it. It is soooo hard to photograph this thing-it does look grand in person-and EVERY year I complain about how hard it is to put up and decorate and EVERY year once its up-I LOVE it.





Entry Niche- I usually go all out with tons of "stuff" here-but this year I went with the "less" is more feel. Greenery stuffed in an urn, sparkle-blingy picks (yes that is a word) and a small mirror ornament.

Top of my refrigerator- My candy-cane centerpiece I used from my Tea party, little Gingerbread people and a candle wrapped in yummy chocolate brown ribbon.


My Gingerbread house I made-and dont look too close cuz the roof is caving in-really!!

Tree branches from the back yard stuffed into an after Christmas sale urn, some greenery and glittered leaf ornaments. simple, yet elegant (I sound like an HGTV host)

I gathered all my silver and added candles to my garage sale buffet.

And that completes the inside home tour- well there is my bedroom with my brown & blue tree-but I didnt make the bed or put away the laundry so Im not letting you in there! you might not come out-its pretty bad!
