I was chasing a storm last night as I drove South towards home and the landscape was fresh and gorgeous in post summer storm glory. I had my windows cracked so I could breathe in as much of that wet desert smell as possible. I can't think of a smell I like more than the musty blend of the hot earth and brush.
I stopped somewhere in the middle when the sights got too pretty for drive by shots. I got out and stood in the soaked sagebrush liking the way the cold wet branches felt on my legs.
