Chair ugly, Chair pretty

This chair IS-NOT-PRETTY. It was given to me some time ago. I was afriad to recover it because of the upholustered back-I KNOW how to recover seats, but backs-ummm they scared me. Well, I pulled up my big girl panties and did it. I took the whole thing apart and got out my electirc stapler (if you dont have one of these GET ONE- your arms will thank you) and my hot glue gun. I got this nice black and white ticking fabric for $6 a yard- I had enough to recover 2 chairs.








Im now off on another spray paint adventure-this one is big- Im spray painting my dining room table & chairs! Yep you read right- I wanted to stain them a nice Pottery Barn espresso but the wood is hard pine and the stain just does not get deep enough into the wood-without maybe applying 20 coats and who has time for that? So my solution- espresso brown spray paint-I have 1 chair down & 5 more to go. Now doing this in 100% humidity and temps in the triple digits has NOT been fun- but pain is beauty people!
