Say A Little Prayer For Me
Soooo tired. Two weddings , one today ,one tomorrow. And a slew of other orders. I left work at 6:15 and our driver was still out delivering.
I'm drinking a vitamin bomb because I feel a sore throat coming on and enjoying a private computer moment. I want to go wander around the garden but the 6 month old pit bull , Baby, has escaped his home again and of course come directly to our yard. As far as I can tell he's being reared by 7 children of a young age, whose names all start with R. If German girl were home we would corral baby up and walk him home ( well, she would) , but I'm not up for bringing up baby tonight.
Today's wedding was beautiful, all white peonies, scabiosa flower, lambs ears and other lovelies
held in a beautiful botanical garden. Clear skies, 80 degrees, perfect.
Tomorrow's wedding is for one of my best friend's daughter. So far the pink peonies, from France no less, have opened and started to crumple and the cherry blossoms are on the verge of exploding. As am I. But manana es otro dia. I have fresh peonies coming , praying for the cherry to hold firm, and reminding myself that everything always works out.
( it does doesn't it?)

Inger and Olle
Inger and Olle would run hand in hand through the hawthorn, trying to find a secluded spot. The kids sleeping in their tents. Skinny dipping in the moonlight and drinking white wine from plastic glasses sitting on a rock that was still warm from the sun was their favourite thing to do on a warm summer's night.

spring in the mountains
I might be the only one who enjoys snow in April {almost May!} but I think it is lovely on the fresh spring green. Dear snow - just don't kill the peaches please.
I was out running errands this morning for various projects I'm working on and drove through every kind of weather possible as I went from SLC to Farmington {maybe 30 miles} rounding up this and that for clients. I like shopping for other people more than shopping for myself. Have I found the right profession?
This house on my street is great to watch throughout the year. Great holiday decor, but it really shines when the garden is in bloom. So much so that I drove by it checking it out as usual then turned around today to share a picture with you. I don't know the people who live here, but I love what they do with their place. Little lights hang in the awnings year round. Bursting with curb appeal if you ask me.

Garden Temptations
My house is but two away from the main street where I catch my bus in the morning. The bus stops in the middle of the block. So say it takes me one minute to walk to the bus stop.
Unless, unless the sun is shining , and new flowers are open in the garden, and I have to stop for a fast shot of this one or, oh my God, that one. Picture me whirling around in the garden a la Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music.
Then I'm late and running down the street praying the bus is behind schedule or someone has seen me and told the driver to wait or I just miss the bus. And another one doesn't come for 20 minutes.
But after the winter we had, it's damn near impossible not to stare at this Sugar Blues iris, or the Miss Kim lilac or that crazy weigela , a shrub I swear I grow not so much for its blooms as for a chance to say it's name (same with euonymus, but that's a shrub for a different season).
So there goes the bus, but that gives me 20 minutes to go back home and pull a few weeds and pick a few flowers and make that er, I 'm running late phone call.
Crazy gardens, always tempting, always getting us into trouble. Ask Eve.
Penguins & Blossom
The hawthorn blossoms are so beautiful this time of year we thought we would add a splash of Penguin colour to the countryside. Which colour is your favorite?

Nine By Design: Episode 3
Tuesday night was a FAB night for tv. I normally don't watch a lot of tv but Glee was incredible and 9 by Design gets better and better with every episode. I'm so in love with this family; they are quite endearing.
IN this episode the Novagratz's were challenged to design a gym in Hoboken for wrestlers (HAHA) and basketball players for only 50 grand (BAHAHA). They manage to convince the developer to up the budget, phew.
In the gym area, they designed a space with vintage gym equipment, large metal letters on the wall, and oversized blown up vintage wrestling photographs. It was VERY well received and was really incredible.
Did you guys watch the episode? What do you think?

The Inn at Phillips Mill
The rambling inn has another darker history though, which I didn't find out about until I left. I've been debating writing about this since I got home. I don't want to be seen as the crackpot blogger and loose any of the little respect I may have earned. I suspect many of you have stopped reading by now though and are just looking at the pretty pictures!
Apparently the Inn is haunted. Allegedly. Two weeks ago, I might have scoffed as you just did, but I had an odd experience that has really put me on edge since my return. I'll share it with you now.I've never been one to believe in ghosts; I wasn't raised that way, but I never DIDN'T believe in ghosts. Truthfully, I never gave the topic much thought. I'll tell my little story matter of factly, as my experience unfolded and let you judge for yourself.
By this point I was convinced the rocking was from our room. It was too loud to be in another guest room and I just KNEW it was from closeby! At this point I shook awake my roomate and said 'do you hear that rocking'? THE ROCKING IMMEDIATELY STOPPED. He hadn't heard anything, and without the annoying sound, I quickly fell back asleep. Yes, I tend to move on and forget things quickly. Blessing in disguise?I thought nothing more of the incident while photographing the inn the next morning or indeed till 2 days later when I thought I would write a post about this beautiful inn and recommend it. Some of the first hits that came up with my google search made mention of a HAUNTED Phillips Mill. Well, thats odd, I thought. It wasn't until I opened those websites and saw that they mentioned an old woman in a long dress who had been seen in a rocking chair that my experience came back to me and I really freaked out. Seriously freaked out. I questioned everything I had ever believed or not believed. I wanted to distance myself from the experience (and feelings) so I've waited a good 10 days to record my experience.Do I believe in ghosts now? Well, I suppose I do but I won't be thinking about it much. I am utterly convinced that I DID NOT imagine this. I hadn't seen any mention of a haunting or rocking chair before my visit. Indeed, I knew nothing at all of the Inn's history so I know it wasn't my subconscious. I just wonder if one of the previous guests, Charles Schultz had a similar experience. Was it a simliar experience that led him to repeatedly pair the peanuts gangs with ghosts? Now I'm grasping at straws so I'll leave you with the drawing he left at the inn which hangs in the foyer. He simply writes: Great Food, Great Lodging. I agree, but I won't be returning!
